Maxon and Mograph.com are proud to present the 2023 Design and Animation Tour, a multi-continent roadshow that was timed to join forces with the amazing Midwest motion design community here in Chicago!
DAT is composed of 3 presentations featuring Johnathan Winbush, EJ Hassenfratz, and Chris Schmidt with topics covering character design and animation, advanced Cinema 4D tools and techniques that you didn’t even know where inside of C4D, and adding Unreal into your workflow!
A panel discussion follows up the Presentations. Featuring local and visiting industry leaders, covering topics such as the world of design, education, continued learning, job hunting, networking, contract work, mental health, work/life balance, the complex social issues facing the modern digital artist, and AI.

Half Rez is a blowout party celebrating the amazing motion artists, designers, producers, students, and studios that make Chicago and the Midwest the community it is.
This year the nighttime event will focus entirely on the celebration part of Half Rez! This way everyone can focus on networking, games, prizes, cubes, food, and drinks!
If you love the educational part of a traditional Half Rez it’s different this year. We’ve teamed up with the Design and Animation Tour! To catch some amazing presentations and panel discussions all morning and afternoon, be sure to get a Full Rez ticket!
